Medical Administrative Specialists contribute to the efficient operations of medical facilities by working with coding, insurance billing and patient records, and performing other administrative duties. These healthcare professionals schedule and monitor patient appointments, create and maintain patient records, and ensure the accuracy and completion of medical charts. Our Medical Administrative Specialist program curriculum includes training in various front-office duties and administrative functions that relate to insurance claims, compliance and reimbursement. Students will become familiar with electronic medical records, medical terminology and the industry-accepted processes for creating and indexing codes.
Graduates of our program will be ready and prepared for entry-level employment working in a medical office setting. Upon completion, graduates will be prepared to sit for the NHA CBCS certificate.
